Avoiding Car Drop Off At FCO......
Having read more than one post about the horrors of dropping off a rental car at Rome airport, I see that we can also turn it in at Terni (then, presumably, take a train /bus to FCO.) Has anyone done this? Or are we being overly concerned about the hassle of dropping it off at FCO? We are seniors, for whatever that's worth. Please give me your opinions.
Thanks, James

It's not that big of a deal to drop off at FCO. The sign is small and it's on the left JUST past the airport Hilton. We missed it the first time and had no problem circling around. Just drive slow and keep an eye out. Other drivers may get irritated, but your talking five minutes, not like they're behind you on some mountain road for an hour. Don't stress about it.

If you have trouble finding the spot, just stop any ask the numerous sky caps, police, airport workers, etc. It's Italy - everyone driver is irritated *before* they get in the car, and stopping on the road is what all the Italians do anyway.

Nothing could compare to the hassle to have to drive into Rome.
