We stayed there years ago and liked it. In fact, we've been to Barcelona many times and go by it. Convenient location in center of town but away a bit from Placa Catalunya. The only problem maybe is that it is on a busy thru street right thru center of town. But the convenient location beats all, I think. Airport bus stops nearby. Gaudi bldgs nearby. It is a GO for us.

Carol, go to "Hotels" on this website and look at the reviews there. Please post one yourself when you return; I am staying there in October.

We stayed at the Avenida Palace 2 years ago when a friend said that was the place we "must" stay at when in Barcelona. We loved it. Beautiful hotel and the best location (near Ramblas and near lovely Plaza where you can get the "hop on - hop off" bus.) Windows are soundproof - didn't hear a thing from the street. We are going to Barcelona again this Oct. and will be staying there again for 3 nights before a transatlantic cruise back to Florida. I made our reservation through www.egiinc.com - if you go on that site you can see what the hotel looks like. Enjoy
