AVE train Granada --> Seville?
Hi,
Are the AVE trains working between Granada to Seville? I can't find available train routes on any websites. I'm looking to travel from Granada to Seville on Sept 9th. Thanks so much!

Yes, direct trains are running now between Granada and Sevilla Santa Justa. They are smart conditioned Media Distancia trains, not AVEs (which go to and from Madrid)
Renfe or (easier, in plain English and for same price with no fee) www.loco2.com

Thank you everyone! I see on loco2 that there's a train at 7:10am, 3:35pm, and 7:18pm from granada -> cordoba -> seville. I guess there is no direct trains into seville from granada?
Are the ALSA buses a better option? Are they comfortable and easy to access? I noticed that the ALSA bus stop in Seville stops at Plaza de Armas is this bus stop close to the city center? Thanks again for the responses.

ps. The bus may offer more departures and may be easier not to change trains
if you have a lot of luggage .
you will have to take transportation ( taxi) from either station to your hotel
neither is very far. check the map of Seville.
We came to Seville from Madrid by train , took the by bus from Seville to Italica ( not ALSA)
I think the bus stop was closer to the centre.

Schedules / Tickets not yet available for Sept.?
I also have been looking for train schedules and tickets from Granada to Ronda, and from Ronda to Cordoba, and from Cordoda to Sevilla, all on separate days in mid to late September.
I've tried on both Renfe and Loco2. Both say the tickets and schedules are not yet available.

Nechervd: This is strange.
We're planning a somewhat similar trip to the OP. On both Loco and Renfe I tried both Sept 9 and Sept 21 and was able to get the schedules (and could have gotten the tickets).
However, I tried our particular journey trying both Sept 9 and our actual dates (Granada to Ronda Sept 21, then Ronda to Cordoba on Sept. 24, then Cordoba to Seville Sept. 27) (tried all 3 separately, not as one journey) and both Renfe & Loco2 way they're not yet available.
Any idea why?

Because they aren't. Sept 21st is too far off, they aren't selling tickets past 9/15 at this point in time.
I don't believe you were able to buy tickets for 9/21 from Granada to Sevilla, perhaps you are mistaken. I couldn't. You can buy them for Sept 9th.

In post 15 I might not have been clear about why I was puzzled:
Similar to neckervd in post 14, I too would find the schedules and ticket availability for the trip he was responding to for both Sept 9 and for Sept. 21
But I could not find the 3 similar trips that I listed in post 15 for either Sept 9 or for the actual dates I listed (I checked both, on both Renfe and Loco2).
Does Renfe treat and post shorter trips at different times than longer trips? Or different routes at different times? Or???

elbegewa,
Renfe posts its fares whenever they get around to it! There's just no rhyme or reason to when they make fares available. I deal with this all the time, and they never follow their own rules about making fares available for purchase 62 days or so in advance. Madrid-Barcelona AVE fares are "usually" loaded first, but I see that they're only available today up until September 15. I just keep checking every day!

neckervd Thanks for this. I waited and I saw these ticket times as well and was able to purchase the direct train from Granada to Seville
elbegewa I had similar thing happen when i was looking for tickets - loco2 would sometimes have tickets (indirect) ones on their site and some days it would not be available at all. I think as other users have mentioned you just need to wait till it's closer to your travel date. I would keep checking a month ahead regularly and see if any tickets are posted.
