AutoEurope - Hmmm, Why Would This Be?

I booked a rental car through AutoEurope's US website for pick-up at Avenida Santa Barabara 91, Toledo, Spain on 22Sept at 10am.

Based on other posts, I thought that I'd check some international sites of AutoEurope for better prices.

When I try to look for that same reservation info on AutoEurope's UK website, that pick-up location is not an option.

Same rental website company, same dates... the only location they provide is Rio Estemilla No 12 which is not open on Saturdays.

And kemwel.com does not list any Toledo pick-up locations!

Any ideas as to why that may be?

No idea. But when you put that address into Google maps it shows a Europcar location. So you should get a car there

different Autoeurope might be using different providers. I know that Kemwel will (at times?) use a different provider than Autoeurope in Bergen.

why aren't you trying the Spanish web version?

It's .es if you don't know.

If it doesn't show up call the car rental agency.

As Michael noted, the agreements that AE and Kemwel have in each country are different because of government regulations and the providers used at each location.

The offers will be different if you check the UK, Spain, or USA booking sites, but then you can always call and they will give the best price possible.

Cowboy1968, the second location that I mentioned is not open on Saturdays. So, I'm picking up the car at the Avenida Santa Barabara 91 location.

Rastaguytoday, I had tried the spanish site also. Received the same results as the UK site. The only location they provide is Rio Estemilla No 12 which is not open on Saturdays.

I would think that AE would offer the same pickup locations within a specific country no matter which country's booking website you used.

Thanks for your input.

AutoEurope is a broker. They work with Europcar and Hertz and possibly others in different countries. Their US offices may have deals that thier Italian or UK branches do not. Try Europcar and see what rates they give you. You can always go back to AutoEurope and they will match it.

uhoh... Thanks very much. I am aware that AE is a broker as well as their sister-company, kemwel. I usually rent through kemwel for my vacation cars.

I had previously looked at Europcar's site, but AE was cheaper (by a few bucks).

Maybe I didn't make myself clear? AE's US site offered two pick-up locations in Toledo.

Other AE non-US sites only offered one pick-up location.

Not important is the fact that one is not open on Saturday's.

I agree that different AE have different locations listed. I think they all are independent and have different contracts. Why don't u call back AE in the USA and ask them about what you are finding.

Yestravel, it's not that important to me. I got a good price on my rental and I'm happy with it.

I just wondered why their websites in various countries offered different pick-up locations.

If I'm booking on the autoeurope.com.es site, I'm not allowed to pick up at the Avenida Santa Barabara location but I am allowed to pick up at the Rio Estemilla No 12 location. If I'm on the autoeurope.com site (the US site), I can pick up at either location.

Just seemed very strange to me.
