Austria advice needed

I just added one day to stay in Vienna. Now I need to delete one day from either Hallstatt or Innsbruck. Where do you think a family of 5...with 3 teens...would enjoy staying more??

I have never been to Hallstatt (seen the lovely pictures) nor to Vienna (headed ther in May), but I have been to Innsbruck for a few hours, headed for an overnight in Hall in Tirol. [ www.heiligkreuz.at ]

But I bet that the majority of answers here will tell you to deduct from Innsbruck. How many nights in each place are you planning, in the first place?

We're a family of 5 also, by the way, though two have slipped past their teens now into theit early twenties.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
C,

I would have to say Vienna. It is a wonderful city during the day and at night. Go to "http://city-apartment.com/links/" and you can find out what's going on anywhere in the city. Have a good trip.

Greg
Thanks that is a good site. I was just wondering for those who have been to Hallstatt if you thought teens would enjoy it. I guess we can do the salt mine tour and hang out at the lake...which can be nice. Are there boats to rent??

Yes, there are boats you can rent in Hallstatt. It's a great place for relaxing but you can also do some serious hiking/walking if you wish. You can even walk up to the Salt Mine, altho we took the funicular. Also, if you have a car, you're not that far from Wolfgangsee, or you could drive over to Abtenau which would be a nice little place to explore and have lunch.

I wasn't overly impressed with Innsbruck. I'd delete a day there.
