august weather in jura/burgundy

I am planning next years summer holidays and thinking of the Jura/Burgundy area. I have heard that it gets quite cold at nights, but am I being misled? Many thanks for your help.

Thanks traveller1959 - so there is no need for big clothing at night (jackets and woolly socks etc)? Where did you go?

Hi and welcome to Burgundy! August can be quite impredictable. We had some rainy days this year (all over France) and very hot days as well but all in all we can leave the windows open at night and enjoy BBQ

Thankyou cocofromdijon. I wonder if it will be warm at night at Lac de Joux (which is the more precise location) - do you know it at all?

I don't know it personnally http://www.myvalleedejoux.ch/ but what I know is it is always cooler near a lake, especially at night. Take a sweater just in case! Have fun and give Dijon a visit!

Thankyou cocofromdijon. I like the link - the lake I am going to is in France fairly near Champagnole and north of Thonon le Bains (do you know this area?)We may be able to visit Dijon - we have heard it is beautiful.
