Attention Ira.
What are some of your "targets" in Venice during your upcoming visit? Such as Restaurants and other places of interests. We are leaving for Venice in September and I'm curious because you seem to be so organized and focused.
Thanks

Hi Ira,
I always enjoy reading your recommendations and have eaten at a couple of them. But I'm puzzled by the one across from the train station. We stayed in the walter and canal - just about catty/corner from the station and never found anything closeby our hotel.
When do you return to Venice? We will be there in the middle of October. Our Venetian friend tells us that "Indian summer" is being forecast for October AND November. How delightful!

Hi Mama,
I haven't been to the Antica Besseta yet, but have found some good reports of it.
Cross the Ponte Scalzi and you will find it about 2 blks down and 3 blks to the left.
It looks as if this is going to be a great Autumn for visiting Italy.
Look for my trip report before you go.

You might want to add a tour of the palazzo Ca Rezzonico while you're roaming around Dorsoduro. A lot of art on the top floor, which you can either hit or miss; the rest of it is just a great way to get more of "the way it was."

Ira-
I am new to this site so I do not know if when replying to your notes I did it properly. For all I know, they could be floating around out there somewhere. I hate to admit it, but I am technology-challenged. I only know what I need to know to survive in this world. Thanks for the info regarding both of my inquiries. Have a great trip. I am sure that when you return we will be able to read about it.
