Attack in Strasbourg

Four killed and eleven injured. The police know who the attacker is but the public has not been supplied with the name yet. Happened at the Christmas Market this evening.

Not that it would be much better news, but French TV says that there are "at least two killed" (not four) and thirteen injured (of those six only light injuries).
Two years ago, we had the attack on the Christmas market here in Berlin, now Strasbourg's Christmas market - where I had been the last two years but not this year..

Unfortunately, it could be "at least four killed" and a dozen injured - according the Mayor of Strasbourg.

Whatever the number, the whole thing makes me very uncomfortable. My son operates four "huts" in Christmas markets in three German cities.

Yes, he was under the 'fiches S' - 'S' for suivi and was to be apprehended/heard in the morning for a homicide matter from what I heard.

These attacks will conitnue randomly everywhere... I'm sure Police are doging a lot but some go through.

In Brussels, our bartender was telling us that there were five undercover police for every two cops you see. They are trying to keep everyone safe in the markets. It made me a bit uneasy in the Lille markets. We were squashed together. Brussels had more space and it was pedestrian only at night. Paris was right off the streets in some places so not safe from autos which I worried about like Berlin. I just hope Paris yellow jackets take a break out of respect this coming weekend. I understand the cause but it is stressing people out.

The "count" is now 2 dead and one brain dead plus all the injured.

The gunman/knifer yelled "Allahu Akbar" thus it is now an official terrorist attack. Police think he may have escaped to Germany.
