planning to go to Paris on Dec. 17 for 10 days.
We are planning to arrive in Paris Monday Dec. 17. It seems that most of the violence is on Saturdays, so we are planning to go to Chartres from Friday-Sunday (12/21-12/23). Does that seem a sensible way to try to avoid the current violence?

Not sure what I'd do in Chartres for more than a day - lots of Paris unaffected. kerouac should chimein and he's a local with the accurte pulse. And maybe Macron caving in on some key points will lessen the action?

If you do spend a night or two in Chartres, I have some recommendations. We really liked the Grand Monarque hotel. We had a wonderful meal at the Restaurant Saint Hilaire and another fine meal at Les Feuillantines.
