ATM at Fiumicino Airport (Rome)?
Very soon upon arriving at FCO I need to use my debit card (Star/Plus - with pin number) to get Euros to pay for an apartment. Are there ATMs at Fiumicino Airport where I can do this. I don't want to use it as a credit card (cash advance) but a debit card (withdraw from my checking account).
Thanks in advance

There are several dotted around in the arrivals area. The one in the train station is sometimes out of service. You shouldn't have any trouble accessing your funds with your debit card, but nobody can give you 100% gurantee because of possible computer malfunction, downtime at your bank (e.g. time difference) and fraud prevention measure kicking in (tell your bank you are going to Italy and using your card).

There's an ATM after you exit baggage claim next to the doors (a bit to the left) to go outside, but it's always very busy and not very private. There's another one to the right after you exit baggage claim - walk down the hallway on the right (there are stores, etc.) and a little way down there is another ATM. If you want to purchase a Roma Pass the Commune di Roma booth is also down this hallway.

There is at least one in the international baggage claim hall (before customs), and one in the arrivals hall outside customs.
Last trip there neither worked. I don't mean neither worked with my card. Neither worked period. YMMV.
I simply used mine once I got to Rome. Landlady had no problem with me paying her later on the day of arrival. I suspect they encounter this issue frequently with travelers from outside the euro zone.

How much money do you need. Typically you are limited in the amount you can withdraw in any one day (by your bank) and from any mahine at once (by the machine). You need to check thee limits - which are often $300 or $500.
