Athens to Naxos...No Aegean flight?
I will arrive in Athens mid-morning in September and would like to fly to Naxos instead of taking a late afternoon ferry and arrive at destination late in the evening.
I checked the Aegean Airlines schedule and didn't see any flight. Is there another airline flying into Naxos or will I have to take the ferry?
Brotherleelove and others, thank you for your help.

I saw flights on Olympic Airlines from Athens to Naxos for about 95$ Euro. http://www.olympicairlines.com/. The flight takes about an hour and I think it leaves around noon or so.

Just a word of caution to those that may be tempted to fly this route in reverse (Naxos to Athens). The Naxos airport runway is short, meaning no jets. Due to weight constraints and worries, if there is any wind starting at a stiff breeze, Olympic will ship your checked luggage by ferry to Athens and deliver it to your hotel. The trouble is, they do not tell you this until they have all the bags and everybody is through security and it is too late to carry-on a toothbrush or a change of clothes (something one would not think necessary for a direct, thirty-five minute flight). It really is a planned loss of your bag on their part. And they will not give you a courtesy kit because they say the bags will arrive within 24 hours. (I'm not sure what they do if the bag doesn't arrive--roll back the clock?).

R1148, we had two small carry-on day packs with 2 full-sized bottles of wine and 4 half bottles. This was May of 2006 before "liquid" restrictions. But you will have no problem taking a change of clothes and your toothbrush on the plane. I would encourage you to do so.
And another thing...the stewardess wanted me to put one of our small bags in the overhead compartment. I told her it was full of wine and she shrugged, "So?" I said you have to be nuts to put wine in the overhead compartment. Most airlines request that you do not. It was news to her, but she said she would stow our bag at the back. It was only when we got out of the Athens terminal that I noticed the bottom was wet. I thought a bottle had broken, but after a sniff test I realized she had deposited the bag in a puddle of coffee. Did I tell you how much I love Olympic?
However, in the grand scheme of things, we had just spent 18 days on Crete, 3 on Santorini, 5 on Naxos with a grand total of two drops of rain and the most magnificent time possible. Olympic tried to ruin this, but I WOULD NOT let them.
Have a wonderful trip.
