Athens to Mykonos - can anyone help
I'm looking at travelling from Athens to Mykonos and know the ferry takes 5 hours but am unsure how to book it (whether it can be booked online) or times and dates it runs. Can anyone supply me with a good web address or any information?
Thanks

There are normally at least two sailings a day from Pireas to Mikonos. Today, for example, there was the BLUE STAR ITHAKI at 0735 (www.bluestarferries.com) and the EXPRESS SANTORINI at 1700 (www.hellenicseaways.gr). There will be at least as many sailings in summer. Schedules change with the seasons and nobody will have exact schedules far in advance. Unless you're travelling at a very busy time, you should be able to buy tickets at the port before embarking.

Someone posted that the High speed ferry from Rafina only takes 2 hours. Don't take the slow ferry!
Ferry schedules come out mid April.
We are flying from Athens to Mykonos on Aegean air. They had a fare sale and ....the flights were 19 Euros per person plus a surcharge for fuel and taxes. But you have to factor time to airport and being at airport earlier than you would for a ferry. I figure 2 1/2 -3 hours total traveling time even though flight is less than an hour.

When posting questions about Greek ferries, it is best to mention when you will be travelling. Normally you don't book ferry tickets in advance, just buy them when you get to the port. There are usually plenty of spaces available on the ferries, except on Greek holiday weekends (eg around Aug 15th) when the highspeed ferries tend to fill up.
If you decide to fly, on the other hand, you will need to book in advance, and that can be done online either with Olympic or Aegean.
Use the online ferry schedules as a guideline only. They do change at short notice, which is one of the reasons for waiting until you get to the port to buy your ticket. Also be aware that company websites list only their ship departures, not those of their competitors.
