Athens on a Sunday
Is everything closed in Athens on Sundays? We will have Saturday late afternoon and all day Sunday in Athens before catching a flight on Monday morning. It's not worth staying all day Sunday if the sites are closed that day. Any advice?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The Acropolis and most of the major sites are open on Sunday, afaik. Not sure about the museums, but I'm guessing yes.
What specifically do you want to see? It's hard to answer a vague question about "sites" without knowing which ones you mean.

Couple years ago, on a Sunday in late April, seemed to me all the 'major' Athens tourist sites _were_ open.
It's possible some private museums, eg Benaki, might be closed -- don't recall.
One exception - I do recall the Athens Central Market was closed on Sunday.

Also, review the Hellenic Ministry of Culture website: http://odysseus.culture.gr/h/1/eh10.jsp
If you drill down through the website's sub-menus, it lists operating hours of museums, sites, and monuments. A quick glance indicates most are open on Sundays.
The caveat is that Greek government websites don't always match the reality 'on the ground'.
