Athens hotel Help!
I’m trying to decide between two hotels in Athens and am so confused on areas.
1-The Acropolis Museum Botique Hotel with is located a little south of the Acropolis Museum.
2- Sweet Home Hotel which is located a block off of Mitropoleos not far from Syntagma Square.
We will have young children with us so are trying to limit how far we walk. We will only be in Athens for 2 days. I want to be as close as possible to the historic part of Plaka.
Thanks for any help!

The area south of the Acropolis is a mellower environment than Mitropoleos, although Patroou Street is quiet. I once stayed at what is now the Sweet Home when it was John's Place Hotel. It looks like it's gone through a very nice and complete renovation. I loved the location for its proximity to Syntagma and the Plaka district.

I don't know too much about Athens or the hotels you chose but we stayed at InnAthens for one night in a family room with our two boys (then 4 and 6) - it was right by the Acropolis and walking distance to everything - including the subway to and from the airport (Syntagma?). We liked it so much we are going back - for two nights this time.

Pepper if they are looking at a budget place like Sweet Home, Grande Bretagne is Waaay above their sensible family budget-- probably 3 or 4 x what they hope to pay. Why should they trust you, unless you say, "trust me - I'm paying."
