The wedding locale depicted at the top of a huge cliff in the current movie "Mamma Mia!" looks to be one of the best, IMHO. It's supposed to be in Greece, but I have no idea where.

The main drawback of this place would appear to be the climb uphill... not to mention the more dangerous trek downhill after the ouzo-saturated wedding party.

Venezia is a famous honeymooners destination (demolitioner Henry to his wife in font of the Doge´s palace : With ten men, I will get it down in a fortnight).

Also Paris is. They call it the city of love.

Gretna Green (Southern Scotland) still has a reputation for weddings, especially for those of minor runaways.

Hmmm. I think there are surely some beautiful wedding locales in Europe, but since my own search a few years ago, I've come across a few gorgeous destinations right here in the U.S.

Really, it all depends on what you're looking for in the way of celebrating that special day...

Sites like theknot.com might be a good place to find out about great destinations from those planning weddings/newly hitched.

I would definitely say a romantic castle in Scotland. They ooze with history, charm, atmosphere, beauty and drip with romance.

What about a villa in Tuscany? Or a chateau in the Loire Valley? A castle in England or Scotland?
