Ascoli Piceno bus or train?

Hello,

We are visiting Rimini this summer and i would like to see Ascoli Piceno. Is it possible to reach the city by bus or train from Rimini?

Haven't got my driver's licence yet so will be only using public transportation.

Thanks very much!

Greetz

Train to San Benedetto del Tronto, then train or bus from there to Ascoli Piceno.

Hi Serge - It's a long trip by train - 3hrs+ each way.

If you decide to go for it, be aware that the train station in Ascoli Piceno is at least a kilometer from the Piazza del Popolo, possibly more. I suspect the bus would get you closer if you are headed for the historic center and don't have someone waiting to pick you up.

For day trips from Rimini, I hope you are checking out San Leo and Santarcangelo di Romagna. Although Cesenatico is another beach resort, the port was designed by da Vinci.

Is there a way to get to Santarcangelo di Romagna by public transport from Rimini?

I saw your other post about Santarcangelo di Romagna and tried to find bus route info. I suspect there is a bus--it's so close-- but I couldn't find anything definitive. Even by taxi, I'd expect it to be a 15-minute ride. Are you staying at a hotel in Rimini? Can you ask the hotel?

Serge/ Ellenem - You can find travel info (- in Italian) on:
http://www.iatsantarcangelo.com/cont...=come-arrivare

It says the railway station is 1km from the centre. For train times see:
http://www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html

For bus timetables from Rimini see:

http://www.tram.rimini.it/webserver/...leto_bassa.pdf

(Line 90)

Hope this helps ...

Steve
