Arrival Day in Budapest - Where to Begin for Lunch?

We are going on our first river cruise in September, and arrival day is in Budapest. We will have transportation to our boat, and then have some hours on our own. Which side of the Danube are we likely to be docked? Shall we four have lunch and bit of exploration on the Buda or Pest side? We will be very tired from our overseas flights, but stretching our legs for couple hours is the best way to begin. We will have 2 days of tours to follow, but DH and I are usually tourists on our own without guides. Lunch recommendation spot would be appreciated as well -- we can find your favorite rather than the first off the dock for sure! Thanks, Fodorites

I'd say hang around Andrassy UT (on the Pest side), and turn into Liszt Ferenc tér (Liszt Square) for a lunch restaruant. It was a very happy and bustling square when we visited some time ago.

Budapest is more affordable than many European capitals.
