April Cottage, Scotland - Self Catering

April Cottage (http://www.april-cottage.net/)

http://www.scottish-holiday-cottages...il-cottage.htm

what a wonderful place to stay, the area is so peaceful and yet a short drive can take you to so many activities.

We were in the area for the Seafood Trail, we visited four of the restaurants this time, but hope to be going again in a few yearS, with the same cottage to finish the trail!

Now what I want to know from members is, are there any other places they would recommend to a family who have peace loving parents, but kids who can't stay still for 10 minutes!!!

welcome to Fodors.

Call me a skeptic though, when someone registers simply to post a glowing review, it looks suspiciously like advertising. If I'm wrong, my apologies in advance.

If this IS an advert -- it isn't allowed on here (we frequently get owners posting as "satisfied customers&quot

And this Seafood Trail is obviously a commercial marketing ploy put together by a group of hotels & restaurants. I know I don't get out of the cities much but I've never heard of any of these places being noted for seafood, with the obvious exception of the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar.

janisj: I too wonder how we tell the true reviews from advertising...but I like to trust people and think they are sincere personal reviews~~~~~~~from their own experiences.
I've always appreciated personal ideas from people who have stayed themselves at certain accommodations....and to me this is much better than those who just say: "try this web site and pick a place from the list".

I just wonder if there IS a good way to tell if one is "advertising".

Tripadvisor is good and mostly sincere, I think,...but they often run the gamet (sp) from poor to excellent..

well one way - not foolproof of course - is to look at the posting history. pure_thoughts registered this a.m. and this is the only post.
