Apartments in Paris? Ideas and areas?

Traveling to Paris in March with a friend and 2 14 yr old girls. We would like to rent an apartment. We would like an area that we could walk to things or get easy transportation. Any suggestions?

There is no shortage of rental apartments in Paris. In addition to DownUnder's recommendation, you can try ParlerParis apartments http://www.adrianleeds.com/parlerparis/apartments/. This forum has had many people offering suggestions for apartments, so you can check previous threads. Two areas that are especially nice for teenagers is the Marais and the Sorbonne/Pantheon area (5th).

I prefer Vascation in Paris because you get keys before you leave, no security deposit and you pay in US dollars by credit card!

We stayed in Adagio Aparthotel in Montmartre. It was quiet, near supermarkets and metro stations and was very comfortable. It had a front desk, so we didn't have to worry about getting met at the station or not finding the place where we could pick up keys. We booked through the travel agent but you can find it on Booking.com too. They have a couple of other properties around Paris. They had a proper bed too. I noticed on some of the sites there seem to be a lot of sofa type beds.

Easy to deal with, helpful on-the-spot owner/manager; well located apartments at reasonable rates; very good reviews here and elsewhere.

The agency that Downunder suggested also has a fabulous 2 bedroom apartment on the Place des Vosges in the Marais area that I highly recommend. Great area and great apartment.
I stayed there last year with some teenagers and everyone loved the location. Agency a joy to deal with.
For a less expensive choice I have dealt with Theirry at BestLodge. A terrific landlord with very nice apartments and very easy to do business with.

There are many many options in terms of price and location. Think about what you want and where you want to be. If this is a first trip, a central location like the 2 bedroom apartments offered by Paris Vacation Apartments at Palais Royal could be ideal. The area while the heart of Paris is a bit more expensive and you might not get the "neighborhood" feel, but the apartments are perfect! Two other options would be an apartment in the Marais or on the left bal. I prefer the Marais, just feels a bit more real to me. We have rented homeaway.com apartment #210013 and enjoyed it very much. For a more budget aware option, www.rentparis.com has a large one bedroom on rue Chapon that has a fold out bed in the living room area - it's a lovely apartment.
