Apartments in Florence?

Can anyone recommend a reliable apartment company in Florence? We found one for Venice, but can't seem to locate anyone for Florence.

We would prefer to get a flat, rather than a hotel room, to save money on meals. We are also not looking for anything fancy, just "run of the mill" is fine.

Thanks in advance.
Hi Statia!
We had a great experience in May 2002 with "Windows on Tuscany" (www.windowsontuscany.com). We rented a very nice two-bedroom, two-bath apt. a couple blocks from the Duomo. WOT was easy to deal with and everything was as advertised.
Buona fortuna!
-Mark

I found an old thread with great responses on this topic which should be helpful for you:

http://fodors.com/forums/threadselect.jsp?fid=2

My reply has links to at least half a dozen rental sites, and there are several others as well. To find more like this, text search "apartment and florence".

Just noticed the path to the thread I was talking about doesn't work. My message from it is as follows"

"Author: Lesli ([email protected])
Date: 01/02/2002, 05:18 pm
Message: I used a service called lodging.it to rent an apartment in Florence for 2 weeks a couple of years ago, and was quite satisfied. Their website is at: http://www.lodging.geoide.com/

It has lots of choices, with photos, and I found the rates at the time I was looking to be better than those on other sites.

However, alternatives are:
http://www.natipoltri.it/

http://www.italy-rentals.com/

http://www.travel-italy.com/ ("villas" in "cities of art&quot

http://www.charmingflorence.com/

http://www.venice-italy.co.uk/english/firenze/inglese.htm

http://www.homebase-abroad.com/"

Thanks for all the replies! I've submitted rate requests to all of your suggestions and I will wait to hear back. We have, however, already received a response from an owner with Vacations Abroad that we're very interested in. Thanks again.

BTW Lesli, I found your post and the site...thanks. I'll also check out the other ones you mentioned.

Anyone else?
