Apt. in Florence?

My husband and I are planning a trip to tuscany in late September. We want to rent an apt. for a week in Florence. Any recommendations on rental services or even better - a specific apartment that you've stayed in? There will be just the two of us. Thanks, I really appreciate it!

Have a look at

www.slowtrav.com

There are reviews of rental agencies as well as of individual apartments.

We stayed in the Casetta de Bonsi last year and it was great--right near the Ponte Vecchio. It has two bedrooms and we rented through ItalyPerfect. I think they have more places in Florence now, but haven't seen any of them. Lisa and Maurizio were great to deal with, and hope to try another one of their properties the next time we get to Florence.

Last fall we stayed in a nice apartment rented through excellenteurope.com. It is called Ponte Vecchio. We felt we had a real find, the price was reasonable, the location excellent, one long block from the Ponte Vecchio heading toward the Pitti Palace. The apartment was larger than we anticipated and very bright and comfortable. Quiet, too. The reservation experience and the local hostess were all helpful and efficient.

We found one that we liked through www.vrbo.com which is Vacation Rentals by Owner. Ours turned out to be an ItalyPerfect.com apartment too. VRBO has lots of places in Florence to choose from but no reviews.

I have used italyby.com several times and have never had any issues (have booked hotels, apartments, and even a castle using this service).
