Apartment rental in Lake Como area

We want to spend our 10th anniversary in the Lake Como area next May or June, 2011. Can someone recommend an apartment with a lake view. We will stay 1 week.

If you don't mind the walk down to it, you can't get much closer to the lake than this place...it's beautiful!

If you would consider staying in Bellagio, I can highly recommend La Limonera - www.residencelalimonera.com Well-equipped, comfortable apartments with very nice owners. Steep walk to and from the lake, but the town is very charming -- lots of good restaurants and wonderful enotecas for wine drinking if you are so inclined.

Here are my pics from Bellagio and Lago Como. Check out our apt. and view--from L' Ulivio apts. which are managed by the 5 star Villa Serbelloni hotel. We like them but also like the La Limonera---minus a lake view.

If you are planning to do your own cooking, shopping for food in local markets, I would not choose Bellagio.

There is a green grocer, a salumeria, bread shop, a small grocer all within short walking distance of La Limoneria, on the upper road in Bellagio. There is a large grocery store a short distance outside of town.

HappyTrvlr is correct. Everything we needed for cooking was within a short walk of La Limonera. One of the things we particularly enjoyed about our stay was shopping nearby and developing a relationship with the local shopkeepers.
