Apartment location
Traveling solo to Paris for a month. I know everyone thinks #6 is best area, but I found this apartment on ground level for what I think is a great price. For those who know Paris well, what do you think of this area? This is my first trip solo since my husband died. In my younger years went to LA and Dallas solo on business trips and am looking forward to this adventure.
Thank you for your advice.

The area is fine. I would want to know if there is a security door into the courtyard. You'll have to make sure everything is locked up before you leave each day. I like to keep windows open (depending on time of year) but you wouldn't be able to with this apartment.

You don't say when you are going..there is no AC so that might be a concern if summer..Also I, as a solo, would not be comfortable ground floor unless there is vg security. the 6th is fine, the apt. looks very nice but as stated I would have some concerns.

The link posted leads to "1 Bedroom Rental in Invalides (PA-105)" in the 7th at "Rue Saint Dominique & Rue de Grenelle, 75007 Paris (7th Arrondissement)". Great area but my concern would be that the bedroom window is on the street. It could be noisy at night and I like to sleep with the window open but that's a personal habit.
I stayed in Paris Perfect's Kir apartment in the same neighborhood and really enjoyed the area. The Kir is probably more expensive and is only a studio. It had a security entrance, large windows and was on an upper floor with elevator.

Thank you for your replies. Been recovering from surgery and just now getting back to this. I am planning for Sept 6 through Oct 5. Have been trying to find out what the temperatures are during that time. I am still looking at other options.

Pat--have been to Paris several times in September and October and temps have ranged from 90s to quite chilly. Usually it's been quite pleasant in 60s and 70s without a lot of rain but it's a good idea to be prepared for changes over a month's time.

the area is great, I've stayed in a ground floor apartment solo, there were two security doors until I got to my apartment which was on a little garden, totally safe.
my only concern with this apartment is it says it is 6 month minimum rental....have you seen that?

Nytraveler: It is 645 sq. ft - that isn't small - and w/ not wasted hallway space it is actually pretty large for a 1bdrm.
PatW: It looks really lovely- I'd talk to the owners just to verify the security / access. If there is adequate security I'd love staying there.

The apartment looks lovely; I hope that if you stay here you will post about your experience. I'm hoping to spend a month in Paris in two years and this looks like a great place.
I always stay in the 7th and love that neighborhood. There will be street noise but it becomes white noise for me; I always sleep with the windows open in Paris and sleep very well.

Thank you for the latest advice. I have tinnitus so the noise from outside will probably be OK. Have to go to sleep with sleeper timer on TV so I don't hear all the crickets in my head.
I am going to ask again about the security. I have been looking a lot and thought this would work. Some apartments are so barren--with just essentials. For a few days OK but not a long period of time. I know there will be some days I will just hang around the apartment to rest. I like pretty.
