Apartment in Rome - location opinions please

cathies - I know what you mean.
We have stayed at some real cuckoos in our time, when we prioritised price over convenience. I'm sure that this location will be much more rewarding than the last one you describe, even if it does rain occasionally.

cathies - do you know about the mokka?
they are dead easy to use and you get great coffee. I brought my DH an ordinary metal one back as a present when i went to Rome last year and this year I found a lovely green one [a bit bigger than the first] in a hardware shop in Amalfi of all places. Whenever we use them they remind me of where I bought them!

Is this the apartment on Marzio Lungotevere? https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/774332
My husband & I stayed here a few years ago and it was great!! Loved watching all the Vespas fly by and queue up at the light. Traffic noise didn't bother us, but we live on a busy street in Chicago. The balcony, however, was fantastic. We'd stop for snacks and wine at a nearby little market and have happy hour up there every night. It was great! Would happily stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

isn't it great to bring something home from a wonderful trip and get to remember that trip whenever you use it??? Love that!!>>
sarge - absolutely. I much prefer to do that than to buy ornaments [though I do have a penchant for buying pictures when we're away, sometimes without checking the size of the picture compared to the size of my luggage! My other weakness is silk scarves which are much easier to pack!]

OMG, bpesta! I've been wanting to stay at that apartment for years! But it was on a different website. I want to say either VRBO or SleepInItaly. And it was less than $400/night.
Debit,Ann- girls trip? We could split the rent.

>>>I found an apartment on Lungotevere Marzio, overlooking the river, by Ponte Cavour bridge.<<<
Is that the apartment Tedgale has reviewed a couple of times? I think it's called Miquel, but is also near Ponte Cavour.
