Is it worth it to get an apartment in Paris for 3 days for 4 people in December, and if so, what should I expect to pay per night?

IMO, no, no way. I would never rent an apt. for such a short time for any reason because it's too much trouble and too risky and too expensive. Also, I would never have a need for apartment features when in a city only a couple days.

I don't find modest Parisian vacation apt. rentals to be as comfortable as nice hotels that are much cheaper, at least for a single person. Also, if only in a city a couple days I have no interest in spending my little time shopping for TP or soap, nor would I want to eat in. It's really the hassle factor, though, and the problems with booking so far ahead, deposits, insurance, etc.

IN any case, I don't really know of any Parisian apt. agency that will rent to someone for only 3 days. Maybe someone else does if anyone thinks it's a good idea. As for cost, that can be anything almost, depending on what you are willing to accept as living conditions and how good the location. For something quasi-nice in a central area, I'd say maybe $250-350 per night and that would not be a lavish or huge place. If you want it for early December rather than the holidays, it will be cheaper. If you want it for four adults rather than 2 adults and 2 smaller kids, you'll need more space and more beds.

All the apartment buildings have a front desk (like a hotel) that is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

check out rentparis.com. they might rent for just a couple of days. I've used them with good results.

I can see why 4 people might prefer an apt. over a hotel. It is nice to have a shared living space to hang in & your own kitchen.

Dorothy01- FYI Citadines are apart'hotels, not apartments per se. We have stayed in two and enjoyed them, although we generally prefer apartments in regular apartment buildings. The advantage of Citadines rae they are hotels, so if you get in early, you can leave your luggage at the desk and go sightseeing. Enjoy you stay.

I have used rentparis.com and I believe they will rent apartments for any number of days. There is no security deposit, they meet you at the apartment with the key, there is no more hassle than getting a hotel room, and for 135 euro per night we had an apartment that was FAR nicer than the hotel rooms I have stayed in in Paris.
