Anyone know what this beverage is?

I went to Greece 6 years ago, and I remember there was this one beverage they had at almost all the beverage stands, it was ubiquitous. It was some sort of a fruit juice blend, maybe not 100% juice, possibly 20% fruit juice and the rest water/sugar, and I think it came in a plastic 16 to 20 oz bottle. It cost between 1 and 2 euros at the time. It was not a soda.

I cannot remember the name of the drink, but for some reason I am pretty sure it was owned by Coca Cola. But I just checked a couple of comprehensive lists of worldwide Coca Cola products, and I did not see any familiar names on those lists. I'm pretty sure if I see the name, then I'll say "Yeah that's it, that's the one." Maybe they discontinued it? I remember that I only saw it in Greece, I traveled all over Europe that year, and I'm pretty sure it was only available in Greece.

Hi

It's just a hunch but could it have been Amita?

For many years they have specialised in fruit drink mixtures which are still available EVERYWHERE in Greece and in the type of bottles you describe. The company is now owned by Coca Cola Hellenic but I'm not so sure it was in 2003/4.

It wasn't Amita, it was something else.

I also should have said try posting your question on Trip Advisor's Greece forum. There are many Greek folks contribute to them:

Believe it or not, the legal term for the kind of drink you're describing is nectar. And they really do sell it in the drink kiosks at the foot of Mount Olympus.

The Pepsi brand is usually transcribed in English as Ivi, (eta beta eta: back when Socrates was a lad, pronounced ayvay or more likely erver). The domestic brand is Epsa.
