Anyone familiar with Bob's Limo' in Rome??

We are planning a trip to Rome next month...I've found a tour service called Bob's Limousines and Tours in Rome, very friendly on the phone, good prices...has anyone used or heard anything about this company? www.bobslimousines.com
We've booked him for airport transfers and i'm considering using him for all day trips...Florence, Pompeii, Tivoli. Thanks..

Last year we used Bob's limo for our pickup and transfer to the airport. Everything worked out as planned. More recently this past August my aunt and uncle used him for transfer from airport to the city, to/from Civitavecchia, and tours in Rome. They were very pleased with their service and were charged what previously agreed.

However, let me point out that recently I have compared their prices to other comparable services and theirs are higher .

Domodosola,

why did the people in your group agree to pay the additional charges? Didn't they have a copy of the e-mail that spelled out what the tour should consist of?

I know lots of people that have used Bob's Limousines very successfully. This is 'our' experience. It's a bit negative I'm afraid. Make of it what you will!!
I showed Paolo the email print out I had received from BOB's stating the time for the tour, etc., before we started the tour so there would not be any confusion as to how long the tour would last. we did not want to discusse with driver.

But, We highly reccomend the www.romeinlimo.com company
we have had great time with them.

We (two persons) had booked Bob for an airport pickup in Rome...to take us to our rental apartment. He dumped us for a larger group, more $$$??...no show at airport, no substitute driver showed.

If you're just 2 persons it is probably just better to take a cab from FCO. No savings getting a car service. there are plenty of cabs at the airport.

cruiseluv: www.limoservicerome.com charges 45e for up to 3 people (20% higher for holiday, Sunday and off-peak hours).
45e is more or less what a taxi would charge.
Plus it's not my experience but many others have been over-charged by dishonest taxi drivers.
There is also a slightly over 1e charge for each bag that goes into the trunk/boot.
And a taxi's meter will still charge you if you are stuck in traffic (below 20km it goes by time alone vs. distance).

A car service driver knows if you have any problems with him, you can easily call his boss to complain.
A taxi driver *very likely* would care less about your complaints.
Regards, Walter
