Anyone ever used American Airline Packages

They are selling some really good prices to London better than go-today. Was wondering if anyone has ever used them and if so how were they? Also did anyone stay at Thistle Kensington Park and if so what did you think?
Thanks for any info.

We had an AA package in March of 2001, and were very happy with it.Stayed at Thistle Bloomsbury (room was small, which did not matter to us, we hardly spent any time in room other than to sleep, more than ample buffet breakfast was included)Nice atmosphere and location. With AA package, we received everything conveniently in one package, air tickets, transfers, hotel voucher, 1/2 day tour tickets,3 day tube pass,1 day bus ticket. The convenience was great and we had no trouble with any of the arrangements on the trip.I would do my next trip the same way.

Catherine, have used American numerous times for Europe and been pleased on all trips. Stayed at Thistle Charing Cross on last visit and was very pleased. Good rooms and plenty of room. Kensington Park will be less crowded and much more quiet than Charing Cross. The Thistle at Charing Cross is right above the CC Underground station. Thistle hotels are good for business and convenience in my opinion. You will be next to a lot of good shopping in Kensignton area. See if American has upgrades on the packages as well. A lot of times you can upgrade the hotel for very little cost to the overall package. Try The Gore Hotel in Kensington or Beaufort Hotel if you want to upgrade. Both are near Harrods and very quaint. Good luck...

Catherine,
I just returned from London and stayed at the Thistle Kensington Palace which is right up the street (on DeVere Gardens)from the Thistle Kensington Park. It is a very nice area to stay in and the Kensington Park looked very nice from the outside, although I have no idea what the rooms are like. My own impression was it looked nicer than the Thistle Kensington Palace.

If you got a good rate, I would say go for it.

A lot of people confuse the two Thistle hotels because of the similar names and they are practically right next door to each other on the same street.

Are these packages available only on the website? Since my computer is old and not so powerful, I am having trouble bringing in their website. Is there a phone number I can call? Thanks.

Being a big American fan and FF, I have checked out their hotel packages and never found them to be a particularly good deal, but if they offer a super airfare as part of the package, then I'd go with it.

I haven't used an AA winter package since a 1990 trip to Paris, because the times never seem to work well for me. But the Paris trip was amazing - - we got the airfare, 6 nights in a really cool small hotel, and a variety of small freebies (Cityrama tour, travel bag, etc.) for less than the airfare alone. I hope you have a great time.

Attention Kristin

I called 1-800-489-4810 today to ask some questions with regard to extra's you can order. They told me I could purchase them by phone. Don't know about the inital package.
The package for the Kensington Park was $1167.80 for six nights including airfare, hotel, air and vat tax, plus continental breakfast in the am. I also couldn't get over that they could get you London tickets for My Fair Lady for only $117.00 for two orchestra seats.
If you want anymore info just email me.
