This big guide to London theatre includes such helpful advice as descriptions of theatres including the location of obstructed-view seats. It gives some sense of what has had long runs and why, and whether the original cast is still in place. Many of the hit musicals are more international than British, running on both sides of the Atlantic. Comedies can be more distinctively local.

Thank you, jamikins! It was simply fabulous. Absolutely wonderful.
Mary Carney was played tonight by Caoimhe Farren. A marvelous cast. I would travel to see Owen McDonnell in something else. I'm going to check out his movies, as well as those by "Tom Kettle" and "Aunt Maggie Far Away".
I think you so much for your recommendation!
