Any life in Porte de Sevres?
I've ended up with the Sofitel Paris Porte de Sevres on Priceline and was just wondering how remote a location this is.
Are there any bars/restaurants in the area aside from the hotel and roughly how long do I have to budget for getting to the main central area and also Montparnasse by metro?
I will be there the weekend of 17/18 September if that makes any difference

www.pagesjaunes.fr gives you a plan and some pictures, which don't look very exciting, but there must be some neighbourhood bars and restaurants if you move away from the Périphérique.
As for travelling, it is about 10 minutes walk from Balard metro station (where there are neighbourhood bars and restaurants, since it's the stop for the Parc André Citroen). www.ratp.fr estimates about half an hour to get to Montparnasse and about the same to the Louvre-Rivoli area (one change in each case).

I'd suggest using www.pagesjaunes.fr to scout out the surrounding streets. I've been to Balard to visit the park, and there are certainly places if you walk towards the Eiffel Tower alongside the park as I recall - but I can't be sure what would suit you: look for restaurants and check out the photos on pagesjaunes as well
