Looking for hotel recommendations in Burges and Antwerp. Want luxury and charm. Have no set budget. I'm thinking E250ish, but of course less is more.

Rapunzll; do try to visit Maastricht if you are going to be nearby. It's a lovely town. You must try their pastry; 'vlaai' which comes with different fruit toppings.

As far as Belgium is concerned, I agree with the comments made here. I love Antwerp (live there), but you might like Bruges better; smaller, easier to see in a day.

111op; try to go to the Kammenstraat and/or Lombardenvest, when you are in Antwerp. Some very interesting shops!

Thanks Tulips -- I'll try to look these streets up on my map. What sorts of shops are in that area?

I know ekim has mentioned it, but I wonder why Fodorites don't generally seem interested in Brussels. I've spent several days there & want to go back as I feel we barely scratched the surface -there is a lot to do there and we really liked it. Maybe we like big cities more than some ?

Bruges is pretty but I found half a day there plenty.

The Kammenstraat is close to Museum Mayer van den Bergh, in the Lange Gasthuisstraat; maybe that's on your list of places to visit? Very nice small museum.
Kammenstraat has the most hip fashion in Antwerp, vintage too. Walter van Beirendonck has his shop there. Lombardenvest is also near, and has the more expensive Belgian and international labels.

Thanks, Tulips. I only have about two hours in Antwerp (I'm supposed to do a city hop to look at art on Saturday). I'd love to visit the Mayer van den Bergh museum (to see the Brueghel "Mad Meg&quot but I think that I'll only have time to visit the Fine Arts museum on this trip.

I was in Antwerp for a couple of hours last year (spent a night there) but I only went to the Cathderal. I did check out the Het Modepaleis and walked as far south as the Art Museum (and went inside the Anne Demeulmeester (sp?) store).

This gives me a much better idea as to where to look, so I'll try to swing by. Thanks!
