Bravo! DiAblo! Bravo! Well said!
The world is bigger and more diverse than even Hamlet could have imagined! ("There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy" - W. Shakespeare)
Many years ago when in Italy, I remember they had something like 54 different political parties!
Are there people in Spain against US policies? Sure! Are there people in Spain for US policies? Sure!
I believe, rgw, the point here is NOT whether there are Spaniards for/against US policies, but what you will get out of your trip to Spain. The advice is to open up your mind and your heart to the wonders of Spain, including their culture, history, art, and language.
Have a great time in Spain!

Agreed, most Spaniards are against Bush and his war, but since Spain does depend on the tourist trade, its citizens, especially those dealing with tourists, probably overlook the middle-aged tourist with white socks and tennis shoes. However, it is hard not
to ignore someone wearing a American flag tee-shirt. As proud as we are of our flag, it's not recommended apparel for touring Spain..or other countries as well.
Our youngest daughter spent Fall 2004 and said there was "X" number of terrorist attackd in December, and no one was hysterical. Everyone went about
business. The Basque separatist attacks
(ETA)usually are announced ahead to spare injury. Now the al-Queda attacks are clearly something else.
As someone else said, Enjoy Spain.. my aaddition is:.but don't be an ugly American.
