Absolutely loved seeing Sicily and especially the caper farms and salt flats. I agree with USNR, I thought he looked "not well" immediately. And when he took off the shirt and jumped from the cliffs- my first thought was- he didn't look like that during the SW Asian trip.
I've read that he is alcoholic. Doesn't seem to me that he says no to anything actually. If he is an alcoholic, he's in the wrong job right now.

OK, there are two threads, so I'll repost: "Saw the Sicily episode -- nice to see the beautiful place, some very good historical background, and interesting interactions with the people. But even Tony seems to be getting sick of Tony.* I think I'm not going to bother with the "Vegas" show -- too many opportunities to simultaneously deplore and celebrate dissipation. Borrrrring."
*?or just sick? He smokes and drinks, choose one or both.

The Sicily episode was my favorite one to date. I liked the cliff jumping, the deadpan delivery regarding the excitement of watching water evaporate to yield salt, the old guy he had dinner with who spoke of nothing but salt, the conviviality of the lunch at the caper farm, and the filmmaker who disparaged Tony's show at the end. I agree though that watching Tony in Las Vegas would be more dissipation on view than a person of my delicate sensibilities could stand.
