Another way to say Hi! to the folks in NY when you're in London

And vice versa (for the next three weeks, anyway):

If you ever have half an hour to spare, and want to be convinced the world's full of them, do a google on how many people actually seem to have believed the story on which this nifty idea's based.

After about 5 mins I gave up counting the numnber of people who seriously repeated the hokum about an eccentric Victoruan inventor.

It took, BTW, 0.1 minutes to find the date of the press release bringing this hitherto unheard-of inventor's ideas to the public.

None of which detracts from the fun of the installation: but it does make you wonder whether Lincoln wasn't being absurdly optimistic when he said you can fool all the people only some of the time.

Boris was asked about the Olympics and the cost of it. His reply was " Citius, altius, fortius sed non carias" You didn't get that with Ken did you.

(for those who need it it means fastest, highest, strongest, but not most expensive and is a play on the Olympic motto)

No, but that decision isn't exactly up to either of them, is it?

I meant that Ken struggled with English, never mind latin.

I went to the one in NY with my niece and we waved to a couple of friends of mine n London-we had to set it all up beforehand to get the time right, kind of like "making an appointment-I brought the emeails with me just in case we had any problems getting stuck in line.

My niece completely got that it was a very cool combination of fantasy and reality right away- I think that's because she's in a family with alot several members who are artists.

Another fun thing to do is pre-arrange with folks back home to get in view of any of the many live web cams all over these days at a certain time and wave at them. A good one is the streaming cam by the London Eye. From the walk way you can see them. Tell whoever (or call) and they can see you while you are on vacation. A bit of silly fun.

Where have I been? I think I'm going to drop by on a nice day and just look at the novelty.
