Absolutely agree with ekscrunchy...those velour suits are SO cheesy. I don't care what color (bright or neutral). They were very J-Lo 2002, and need to go away! Most teenage girls that I know would rather emulate Mischa Barton or Sienna Miller attire and NOT Paris Hilton! I live in NYC as well, and I would not be caught dead wearing one of those! If you just have to wear sweats to be comfortable, at least pair the hoodie with jeans and skip the sweatpants in public.

Oh, how Juicy!
The only adult women I've ever seen wear them around here are the "Debbie Dunwoody" types. They also shop around in their little tennis skirts after their ALTA matches.
Neither look good as street attire and neither would look appropriate on the streets of London.

>> sometimes are even adorned with swavorski (sp?) crystals. <<
Oh, THAT makes them look so less like "trailer trash"...NOT!
>> They are quite the status item with girls/younger women and even older adult women wear them if they look good.<<
We know what sweatsuits you are referring to. Believe us, the "older adult women" wearing them just think they "look good".

"Terry and velour sweatsuits in bright colors are very popular in the states right now...."
and so is "big" hair and all the insults that those things get when worn together.
One thing: it is a great birth control method.

"If we try to wear them in the U.K. will we be viewed as trailer trash?"
IMO, yes. Or a ned or nedette, as we say here.

If you are going to London and you want to blend with the Londoners, please wear BLACK. Jeans are always good.
Bright velour tracksuits? very "Trailer Trash" indeed! (or "chav" in the British translation)

I'm not saying if it's right or wrong but there are a lot of people in L.A. wearing veleur sweat suits. I would much rather see them on people than some of the butt crack jeans that is prevalent in L.A.
I guess Madonna's stylist better get with the 21st Century because she wears sweats all the time in London.
