another hogmanay question..please help

I will be in Edinburgh for new year with my spouse and 11 year old daughter. I don't want her to see the drinking going on so she will go up to her room after seeing the fireworks. Will she be able to sleep with alal the nice? We are staying at the balmoral hotel.

Just out of interest, are all these Edinburgh Hogmanay questions from one person? Or has there been a mega marketing blitz on this in the US this year.

She'll be able to sleep, especially if your room is up high. But she'll never forgive you

And as the fireworks are at midnight, it's a safe bet that a lot of drinking will have been going on for many hours before that.

Waiting for Inky's insightful response to this question...and still searching for any other informative responses from Inky.

This is funny because when I was at Hogmanay in Edinburgh in 2000, there were so many children drunk in the streets. I remember standing on Princes Street when a bus door open and out fell a 10-year-old boy with a bottle of Chivas in his hand. Later on, two girls wearing tiaras got into a fistfight over a six-pack of Bud. One screamed,"You slag, gimme my Bud."
