Is it smart for advertisers to annoy their customers? I, for one, am not coming here nearly as often because I find these ads and the layout too darned annoying. This might be a good thing overall as it will get me away from the computer. But hello advertisers! This means I won't be seeing your ads as often either.
Sure the site is free, but apparently it's here to be used not to be avoided and Fodors is really advertising themselves as well.

A very interesting thing just happened. I got on this page and on the right hand side where the threads appear, I got a message that per Norton security, this website was blocked. However, the list of msgs on the left was still there. When I clicked on a particular msg, it did come up on the right hand side. Obviously, the message I got related to the ad showing up.
The moral of the story...everyone go out and get Norton!
Fodor's, find a less obnoxious and intrusive way to get your advertiser's msgs out, you seem to be turning people against your advertiser. I don't think that's the plan!
