Anatalya -Turkey
Hi,
It has been years since Ive been on a vacation. I am going to Anatalya, Turkey and staying in a resort called "Orange County." for two weeks.
I want to get the best experience out of Turkey which includes; food, places to see, people to watch, and a good nightlife experience.
Also, are there any great destinations outside of Anatalya that I should check out which arent too far away?
Any suggestions??

You will have no problem, they will come for you and take you to every place a tourist may or may not want to go. No need to plan ahead, just enjoy the booze with your "All Inclusive" plan and do get out of bed early for the trips. I wouldn't buy more than 2 carpets and not too much other junk. The fake clothes are just that, fake.

The resort in not in Antalya, but in Kemer and has some rather mixed reports. Kemer is rather boring imho, you have to take a bus to Antalya every time. (Careful with your back) But then you could also stay with the crowds inside the resort like many people do.

Hello Neddahaeri,
- You have picked a very scenic spot. kemer is beautiful with the backdrop of high mountains and pine trees. The beach will probably be pebbly, so you should bring something appropriate for your feet.
- Do not forget that you will be staying at a resort hotel which aims to keep you inside all the time, by providing all food and drink, sports and activities and entertainment.
- So you will probably not get any experience of Turkey or Turkish people.
- You will watch other tourists, but eat Turkish food. Open buffets in these resorts are usually quite good. However, you will not get anything very special to taste.
- They should have tours to Phaselis, Olympos and the Chimera (possibly by boat) to the West and bus tours to Termessos, and Perge+Aspendos. Read about these antique sites before you go. There may also be jeep safaris up the mountains and hikes.
- Antalya is 40 kilometers to the East. It is a sprawling large city with a good museum and an ancient port which would be nice to visit. It is much too touristy to have any high quality restaurants, but the fish restaurants in the antique port should be good.
- Kemer town is all tourists and rather ugly but has some interesting shopping where you should bargain and negotiate.
It also has pharmacies to pick up sun tan lotion, mosquito repellent, any medicine you may have forgotten. The restaurants in Kemer town will not be better than the food at your resort.
- There will be many Russians, Scandinavians, Dutch and Germans at Kemer.
- Staff at the resort and the shopkeepers in Kemer town will be fluent in English.
I hope you enjoy your vacation. We have had some of our best vacations in the area (usually at the Kemer Club Med which is just a few kilometers away through the town)
