When did you first see the the locks in the CT, Centralparkgirl???

TDudette, I was there last May and saw them while walking between Riomaggiore and Manarola. That's the only place I've ever seen them.

Magster: Enjoyed your blog very much. I too will be celebrating my 60th in Paris, but only for 4 nights then on to Barcelona for 4 nights. Maybe in a few years or so when I retire we will be able to do a month. That is our goal.

I would be interested to hear more about your champagne tour. We are planning to do a self guided tour in November. We would be taking the train straight to Reims. Do you have a link to your tour?

Your apartment looks really lovely. I also enjoy visiting the small museums of Paris. I will have to see about going to the musuem of montmartre and george sand.

We did the full day Champagne Tour from Paris via minibus. Since this was our first visit to the area, we decided to do a guided tour -- plus we wanted to visit a small producer.

I believe our guide, Trong, also does personalized tours if you wanted him to make arrangements once you arrived in Reims. But a self-guided tour should be pretty straight forward -- you will just need to contact the champagne producers ahead of time.

I came to fodors tonight to do some research on montmart and guess what I found...pictures you you two in my apartment!!!! We must have come the day after you left, we arrived on Thursday...we wanted to come earlier but....
It's a great apartment, perfect area, and although close to Montmartre I prefer the 9th where the apartment is. The first pic I saw on your blog was the elevator, unmistakedly the same one!!! Thanks for the heads up on the dishwasher, we used it once and let it run while we were out, it's enormous!!
No issues with the washer and dryer, found the 30 min cycle!!!!

Hi MAGSTER2005,

Great blog - particularly about WWI. Was it difficult to make connections to Compeigne? Interesting observations about the museum. Also enjoyed reading about the chocolate delights and your cooking class at the Ritz.

We are renting this same apartment this December and I am counting on the washer and dryer as we are staying 3 weeks. Any hints on how to use them better. Any other tips on the apartment would be appreciated -

Kerouac: I'm so jet lagged this trip that I didn't even notice date, thanks!!!

Dental: the apartment is great. Washer and dryer are stacked in the bathroom , I don't find them noisy at all. The first turn to the left is the 30 min cycle which works well, dryer seems to dry fast to me, jeans in an hour? Paula will show you how to turn them on, which in my jet lag stupor I managed to remember so it must be easy!
With the windows closed its very quiet, in fact I sleep with the window in the bedroom open to a courtyard and it's very quiet, I don't hear any neighbors or water noises from other apartments.
Everything you need is in walking distance , good metro connections and also buses.
I'd stay again.
It's furnished very simply but pretty comfortable, only thing that bothers me is the dishwasher is a full size one (?) , we never fill it up, being from San francisco where we are on water rationing, it's hard for me to turn it on...but I'm getting over it!! I would also like another chair in the living room.

It is odd that it's exactly 3 years! And I ended up staying at this apartment in May 2013. Loved it and would absolutely stay there again.

Denmal, as susanna says, there's nothing wrong with the washer/dryer. It worked like any other washer/dryer we've had in apartments in Paris; and Paula will be more than happy to walk you through using it.

Thank you for the responses on the apartment - I am excited to say in the 9th for a change. I am ok with simple furnishing , just want to be comfortable.
