The majority of women I saw were rather unpleasant looking - but it was March and maybe they were the off-season hookers.
I remember walking past one of the sex-shows and the man hawking the shows yelled at us saying something like "You and your wife will like this show, a lot of spanky-wanky!"

My sister and I were in Amsterdam a couple of years ago. I suggested that we walk through the red light district, but my sis vetoed the idea because she felt that it wasn't...well, seemly...to go gawking at these women as if they were just tourist sights rather than human beings. When I thought about it, I decided that she was probably right, but I still had a sneaking desire to take a look.
