Amsterdam to Paris advice

Planning a Sept Europe trip. Want to go to Normandy, Belgium and Amsterdam. If I fly in/out of Air France what is the best way to get from Amsterdam to the main Paris airport (Charles DG).

And to elaborate -- what I was thinking is - fly into Charles DG, travel out to Normandy by train, rent a car, tour around Normandy -- then I need to get to Belgium and Amsterdam -- I was thinking train. Then I go back to Paris and go home. Anyone have any suggestions for navigating between places -- let me know!!

I would just rent the car out of CDG. Otherwise, you need to go into Paris and change trains to get out to Normandy.

When you're finished with France, return the car in Lille and take the TGV to Brussels.

Upon leaving, you can take a Thalys direct from Brussels to the CDG train station.

It looks like six of one and half a dozen of the other.

I would probably take the train to Caen and rent a car. Drive up to Holland but not into Amsterdam. Stay in Haarlem and commute by train to Amsterdam. Drive back to CDG.

Hi P,

Have you considered flying into AMS, the training to Brussels and Brugge, then training to Pairs, visiting Normandy by car and flying home from Paris?

Thanks for replies...I did look at flying in/out of Paris/Amsterdam. Have not found a decent fare. More questions: 1) to take the train paris-caen -- where do you pick it up? 2)Anyone have an idea regarding the time/cost for the trains I would need to take to belgium and holland? 3)what would you think of keeping a car through the trip to belgium/hollandl 4)what about using the ryan air/ez jet options? do those fly in/out of major airports or smaller?

I live in Denver (a United hub) and am doing my best to stay off of that airline. Air France has an $800 RT fare. Anyone taken them -- they seem to be rated well. The other option I saw was in/out of Frankfurt on Singapore -- that is a great airline.

The train to Caen leaves from Gare Saint Lazare.
