Amsterdam -- Location Okay?

DH & I are thinking of renting this houseboat for a week next summer: http://www.simplyamsterdam-apartment...t_phedre_A.htm

From my research, the location seems fine, but I thought I would check in with the Amsterdam experts. We're looking for convenience to public transportation, restaurants, and someplace to buy groceries. Someplace that is interesting for a stroll after dinner would be good, too. Of course, my sense is that most of Amsterdam fits this criteria! Thanks!

It looks wonderful to me in every way, although I really don't know if you are close to grocery shopping there.

If you a do a google search with the words "restaurants waterlooplein amsterdam", you will get an interactive map pinpointing a wide array of restaurants right in that area, plus reviews of them.

Thanks, Zeppole. I put in "groceries waterlooplein amsterdam" and found that there is a Spar around the corner -- about two blocks.

The location is fine.

Waterlooplein has a big flea market daily.

There is an Albert Heijn supermarket on the Jodenbreestraat (close to the Rembrandthuis) just beyond the Waterlooplein, which will probably have a bigger selection than a Spar will.
There are plenty of other supermarkets around the city too.
