Amsterdam: Hotel Residence Le Coin or 't Hotel??
These two hotels have availability for our family of four this coming June, and they look nice on their websites and from various recommendations. Anyone have any experience with these hotels-- location, comfort, cleanliness, service, etc??

very central location near the flower market, Muntplein and Rembrandtsplein.
Great tram connections nearby.
There's 2 very positive reviews at:

Hello MaureenB,
Hotel Residence Le Coin is right across the street from the Doelen, where I stayed on one of my A'dam trips. The location is much more central, but I feel it was good. The Rembrandtplein is just across a small bridge over a canal. Also right across the street from the Coin is the fabulous Cafe de Jaren (NOT a smoking coffeehouse), a large, light and airy building with 2 floors of seating. It stays open late, has an interesting clientele due to its proximity to the U of A'dam's drama school, and is a good place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. If you are there when someone pulls up to the Cafe de Jaren's boat dock in back and saunters in for breakfast, I assure you that you'll fee VERY far away from your hometown!

Thank you, Larry and dovima, for your helpful insights. I am excited about its location, as I think that's probably the top concern when visiting a new city-- to stay in a lovely part of it-- of course, in a clean and well-run hotel. Can't wait to see the canals, and we'll definitely try a meal at Cafe le Jaren. The Hotel offers its breakfast in the Cafe Katoen. Ever been there?
