Amsterdam - High Heel/Platform Shoe Shops

Hi there,

Not the usual request for help on this forum, but would be looking for local knowledge.

Will be heading to Amsterdam soon with my wife, and we shall be grateful for some recommendations for specialist shoe shops that sell high heels/platform shoes in or around the centre of Amsterdam.

Thanks in advance.

In streets like Kalverstraat and Nieuwe Dijk you will find various shoeshops.
Also Bijenkorf sells shoes.

I don't think you'll find much difference in the range of shoes between Amstrdam and the UK (I'm assuming from your name you are in the UK. You will find them more expensive I suspect.
There are, as ida101 says, a lot of shoe shops on the main shopping streets. If you want something more upmarket try the PC Hooftstraat. Bijenkorf and Vroom en Dreesman also sell shoes.

Thanks for the replies to-date.

Apologies, I may well have not made myself too clear in my original post.

Rather than the mainstream high street stores, we were looking for more specialist shops selling shoes with very high heels i.e. 5 inches/12 cm. plus.

Can anyone point us in the direction of any such shop in or around Amsterdam.

Thanks again.

You will be able to find this type of shoes in the red light district.

If anyone has any specific shop recommendations, then that would be fantastic. We do not wish necessarily to be wandering around to find them.

Thanks for everyones help.
