To NJgirl626--I *loved* this movie and saw it a long time ago when it was in the theaters--there is probably some pretty coarse language--altho since it is French it is written out in the subtitle--maybe that is just me but that seems to dampen the force of it a little. I cannot remember how much sex there was but there are probably web sites to advise parents on such things. It is too bad if there are a few inappropriate things b/c overall, I think a teen-aged girl would get a lot out of it, but not at the expense of things she should not see. Maybe others can offer more concrete info, but it is a *great* movie.

As I recall, there is a moment where (finally) the café waitress and the customer in the corner wake up to each other's interest, and celebrate the fact in the nearest available place in the café, and nobody in there can be unaware of what's going on. So to speak..

<<It's probably not released on DVD/VHS yet, but I can unreservedly recommend "Tais Toi!" with Jean Reno and a thinned-down Gerard Depardieu>>
Yes, it is available on DVD in France. Even though that is Region 2, if your DVD is multi-region, that will not matter. If your player is not multi-region, you can find out how to make it so by searching the internet. My son did that to our players so I brought back many DVDs when I returned from France last week.

Amélie is a great movie, and no explicit sex scenes... more suggesting, like the cafe scene, a flash of Amelie's first experiences with sex (staring at the ceiling or her imagining everybody who's having an orgasm right now. And her waking up with her love in her arms 14-year-olds know a lot more than parents imagine
