I loved the scenery from Peru and Chile. The best part of this show is getting to see the different countries and dreaming about visiting!

Agree with Jen regarding Rob & Amber. They are really "playing" the game. So far they are my favorites to win. However, going in, never would have dreamed it. Sandy in Oregon

And I agree with Sandy and Jen. So far Rob and Amber, whom I loathed on Survivor, are playing very well, getting along very well, being nice to other teams and people they meet. It was almost a relief to have Rob scheming again. I was beginning to think he'd undergone some kind of personality transformation. They're my favorites to win for the moment.

"So far Rob and Amber, whom I loathed on Survivor, are ... being nice to other teams".

Did we watch the same episode? They might be treating each other well, but they're treating some teams well and others very badly.

The measure of how good a person is isn't how nice he can be but how nasty he can be.

But they are smart players.

I cannot stand Rob and Amber. After reading this thread last week and seeing all of the Rob and Amber fans, I decided to give them another chance last night. I did not think it was possible for me to like them any less, but I do! I do not like them.

OK. I got that out of my system!

The older woman whining in the market about drove me crazy too!

Otherwise, it is a great show!

I almost always route for the older teams as the underdog. Not this time, they bug me.

Still pulling for Rob and Amber - I can't help it.

Theres a difference between playing a game smartly and screwing-over the other teams. Sometimes you may have to do the latter to achieve the former to save yourself, but when you are safe but then deliberately jeopardize the other teams, then I think that's unfair. Rob and Amber are doing both. I give them genuine credit for using some smart thinking to get ahead, but their sliminess at other times makes me cringe. Something tells me that if they could toss away all the remaining clue envelopes after taking theirs from the box, they would.

The scamming of the other teams to pay 5 bucks each to the driver to keep the doors closed, but not putting in his own (but letting them think that he did) with a chuckle was pure 'Survivor Rob'. Would you want to play against someone who did that to you ?

Of course they can play this game in a different frame of mind compared to the other contestants because they already have a million dollars.

Other questions : How could teams run out of $480.00 in South America ? Thats a lot of money and should have gone a long way there.

I also wondered how they could run out of money then realized they were trying to pay with American money, they had just not changed it. So on the street the mom and son were changing out American money.
Never watch Survivor but I do like Rob and Amber and their scheming. I think I would do the same things to get ahead.
Did not like the fact he kept the other teams money though.
Old couple are driving me nuts.

At one point in the show last night, Patrick (of the mom-son) team had a bandage over his right eye. Anyone know why? Also with the team, if they were short of money at the tram, WHY did they pick the shopping challenge?!?

I wondered too about them running out of money as the flights are paid for.
I guess they might not have realised/known that they had to 'pay' for the food.
I agree somewaht with Mathieu, using skill, being clever, fine, but taking money off the others and then pocketing the money, ahh, maybe a little different there as part of the game is handling the money and using the money given wisely, might not have been much but Rob and Amber got those extra bucks from fellow team players.
Still like Rob and Amber though. Agree all the teams are overall likeable, pity we haven't got a Johnathan this time.
Where to next??? I think it's possible they won't head to Europe but maybe fly from Santiago to NZ or Oz, maybe do the trip the other way around this time.

I agree that not putting in their own money was a bit over the line, but the airport stuff was just smart playing. If you were the only ones who figured out the difference between the two busses, you'd want to keep it to yourself too!

Just to clarify: Rob didn't keep the other teams' money, he just didn't chip in himself. By the way it's only Rob doing the scheming, not Amber.
He was helping many other teams with the bribes and not sharing information, while hindering some other teams.
I thought Meredith was a woman's name!?
The POW&Queen couple - it seemed that they didn't think the books would be counted when they delivered them?

Rob didn't keep the other teams' money. He and three others each put in $5 to bribe the bus driver not to open the back door of the bus. Then he pocketed his $5 and gave the bus driver the $15 from the other teams.

Kate, how I hate to defend Rob, but they really aren't being nasty and rude to anyone. Their strategies may be unfair to some teams, but isn't that part of the game? Some of the other teams, on the other hand, are making pretty snide remarks about Rob and Amber and they are not responding in kind.

I am absolutely astonished at some of these comments. Guess it must be a generational thing! Anyone ever hear of ethics? Skillful playing, in my view, is getting on the first to arrive flight/bus/train; working with cab drivers to find shortcuts or drive faster; figuring out how to get across town first. Despicable playing is lying to other teams (keep it to yourself okay), bribing a bus driver (and the manner in which it was done), and worst of all gloating about it.

There is a vast difference between skill and conniving in my view. It's hard for me to understand cheering for such a smug, underhanded creep!

I was astonished at how many seemed to have "brushed-up" on their spanish. You usually don't hear many of them trying to speak the native language on these shows. Do they know ahead of time where they're going?

I am so mad. I missed the first half hour of Amazing Race last night. How in the heck did Ambur and Rob get to the finish line way before any of the others?

They are out to win the million dollars and are going to do what it takes to do so. They are playing a game. The others aren't smart enough to figure it out, I guess. It is such a joy to watch them together, seeing them get along with one another, not like Jonathan and Victoria from last season.

I agree with the people that say the older couple is soooo annoying. I have always rooted for the older couples and have had such admiration for them taking on such a grueling adventure. This season, however, is another story. I find them to be horribly annoying.

rob is playing and the others are out sightseeing. plain and simple. $1,000,000 at stake and he's pulling out the stops. to get the driver not to open the rear door and having the security guard stay quiet was great. hopefully this will open the eyes of the other contestants and get them to play.

there have been previous seasons where teams have tried to screw other teams.

question: if another contestant/team had done what rob did, would anyone come down on them this hard? doubt it...

How is asking the guy in the airport to "keep it to himself" the equivalent of lying? Teams are not required, and it would not be "skillful playing", to share the information they're smart enough to acquire. Yet, Rob and Amber did share that info with some teams, trying to establish an alliance. That is playing the game.

Rob gloats, it's one of his many unattractive traits, but that's Rob. It's also how the program is edited.

I would have! It's not a matter of "picking" on Rob. I never watched Survivor so have no preconceived notions about him personally. I'm just appalled at how many of you think his manner of "playing" is okay.

Apparently all the cheating in the Olympics, using steroids in baseball, or doing whatever it takes to get ahead or win are acceptable to many of you. I think that's a shame.
