Thanks for all the comments on my "added" question. We were not going to drive all the way to the AC after landing in Rome, but stopping in Sperlonga for 2 nights. I think I better pack my Dramamine! LOL

People keep saying Salerno, don't you mean Sorrento to transfer? Salerno is south of Positano and therefore, Rome. So you would go Positano, north to Sorrento and on to Rome, not South to Salerno and then reverse and backtrack and go back north to Rome where you would have to go to Sorrento. ?

I think on the ferry, it's motoring forward at a fastish pace so you don't have that winding side-to-side motion that makes people sick. That's my experience with the difference. So when a boat stops it starts the back and forth rocking and then people get sick. Not everyone of course. Some people will get sick on a boat no matter what - there's always some people.
