A decision has been reached. We'll spend our first 2 days in Stuttgart (we're flying into Frankfurt),to see the Mercedes Museum) and from there get a cheap Tuifly flight to Naples. We'll go to Sorrento for four or five nites, and then take the train to Bologna, where we'll spend four nights. A tour with motorstars.org to see the Ferrari/Lamborghini etc museums is a msut, and then we'll do daytrips for the rest of the days. Thanks to everyone for their input.
