Amalfi coast and the new 'Equalizer' movie
This is much the same post as the one submitted in the ongoing Movies thread.
Those merely wanting to see Denzel beat up bad guys will not be disappointed by 'Equalizer 3'. It is corny, cliché and deeply satisfying.
But the added value comes with the setting: director Fuqua chose the oh-so visual Amalfi Coast. He posed Amalfi town combined with Atrani as a quasi-fictitious place 'Altomonte'. There actually exists a real Altomonte, but it is further inland.
We were just there back in March and recognized a number of exact locations, including a couple brief shots done in the town where we'd based: Minori.
Must've been fun to have been the location scout for this flick, plus the recent James Bond in Matera!
Same old same old storylines in both cases. My high school teacher once said, "There is only one story, told over and over and over again: Hercules.
I am done. The black Hercules.

YES CG! That's the one. Atrani was kind of a no-brainer if traditional Italy was the visual image that they sought. Love your 'steps up to the church' shot.
'Le Arcate' was our choice for a simple Atrani lunch. You probably recognized the shots of its close-by namesake arches, including at the very final nocturnal scene.
Your food imagery makes me hungry.
FWIW, one of my high school mates was the nephew of a major mob boss here, Nick Volpe. Volpe was eventually found stuffed in a car trunk at the airport.
Sounds like RM (the Equalizer)'s work.
I am done. the phone call below from the location scout to their boss back in LA
Scout: "Yeah boss. Look, I'm gonna' need at least another month here to find just the right locations."
