Amalfi and Tuscany-too much for 12 days?

Four of us, all seniors, are planning a September trip to Italy. Last time we visited Rome, Florence and ports along the Italian Riviera. We are leaning toward Amalfi Coast or dividing the time between Amalfi and a few stops in Tuscany. Is this too ambitious for 12 days? Any advice appreciated.

Hi Saundra,

Great idea. I suggest about 7 days in Tuscany and 5 on the AC.

Mid to late Sept is lovely.

You might find my trip report helpful.

12 days is plenty of time. We are doing the same trip ourselves in September but also including three nights in Rome along with five in Sorrento and four in Pienza. If your 12 days is really only 10 or 11 nights I would suggest 5 in Amalfi and 5 or 6 nights in one central location in Tuscany.

I concur--perfect timing. I like the 7 & 5 split.
